Dr Anna Cohen co founded Kids & co. In 2000 to provide specialist psychological care for children (birth to 12 years), adolescents (13 - 18 years, young adults (19 - 25 years) and their families. Katherine has extensive knowledge in assessing and treating kid and adolescent mental health disorders and has worked alongside some of Sydney’s most experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists and Psychologists. During the past 10 years Katherine has developed her interest in occupied with parents and focusing on the attachment relationship between parent and child. She is proficient in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a range of psychiatric, emotional, and behavioral difficulties in young people. At Kids Co we provide psychological assessment and treatment services that aim to address both emotional and behavioral difficulties experienced by children, adolescents and their families. We also produce educational assessments which can assist parents comprehend and improve their child’s learning difficulties, to assist them attain their stuffed potential. At your first appointment we will produce a thorough assessment, and make recommendations for treatment ardor further assessment. Most importantly, at all times we receive a collaborative and caring approach, using evidence based treatment strategies, that will confront the needs of your kid and your family. Your beginning appointment is a time for us to engage with you, help you and your child feel cozy with the process, and arrive to an accepting of yours and your child teen’s concerns. Maxxie is Kids and Co’s oldest therapy dog and has been assisting with therapy for the final 8 years. Maxxie is grown up and sensible, yet young enough to enjoy all the kids, young people and families who reach to see us in Balmain and Double Bay. Maxxie specializes in helping kids who have phobias about dogs, but he is available for anyone who needs him. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is an emerging field of clinical practice using horses to assist the therapeutic process. The program is experiential in nature and draws upon evidence based practices to support children and adolescents move toward psychological change. The program uses the experience of engagement with the team of miniature horses, along with the application of evidenced based therapy approaches to create change.
