At Bi coco our focus is on the beauty of our skin. This starts with raw skin selection at the farms and progresses through each stage of the journey earlier an item is ready for sale. Tannery selection, tanning specifications, colors and finishes, product design and specifications, metal accessory choices and even custom making of hardware are all critical aspects for us. Made to order lead times can vary from four weeks to six months, depending on skin availability. At Bi coco every element of the manufacturing process is scrutinized to complement the superior quality of our crocodile skins. We trust that matching this luxury material with the highest standard of tanning and the best possible design is fundamental in delivering a quality finished item. The Bi coco collection is thus the collaborative result of the efforts of our team of specialists involved in every stage of production: advanced farming techniques, necessary to maximize the proportion of top quality skins, the superior tanning technologies available and top quality design and manufacture for the accessories and their components, even the presentation and packaging. All must reflect the quality of the finest, maximum highly sought behind and cherished skin in the world. Our recently introduced jewellery range is unique based on artisan executed collections in both belly and horn back skin. Horn back skin is tanned with matte finishes and various fresh techniques for example, the pearlised Dawn White. We use the maximum advanced crocodile skin tanneries in the world and so we are able to introduce new and innovative colors and finishes. Our crocodiles occupy coastal rivers and swamps, unfold sea and island shorelines, extending healthy inland among major rivers, floodplain billabongs into freshwater rivers, creeks and swamps. Crocodile management programmed in the Northern Territory ensures the viability of the wild population and supports farming of the world’s largest reptile. The beginning crocodile farm was established in 1980 and there are now eights licensed farms. Crocodile farms and urge businesses bear employment for hundreds with skins exported to major customers in Europe and Asia. To supplement farm stocks thousands of eggs are harvested from uncivilized nests each year under Government Wildlife Commission controls. A female lays eggs in a nest of mud and grass. On the belly surfaces of the saltwater crocodile, the scales tend to be squarish and flat. The belly skin is most commonly old in the exotic leather industry for luxury accessories, clothing and furniture. Our saltwater crocodile skins are considered the most precious of all species because of the small scale pattern compared with other species, and the beauty and pliability of the back strap. The farm crocodiles are ready for harvesting at two to three years of age when the belly skin around the widest portion measures 38 cams or more when laid flat.
